Mecs Meufs - a comedy short

I don't know how it works in your country, but in France, girls never come on to guys. Never. Or if they do, it's probably too subtle to be noticed.

Bob is 28 and he's tired of it. Every time he meets a girl, it's always the same question: "What are you waiting for? Why do we always have to come over and talk to you? Why is it never the other way around?"

But Bob suddenly finds himself transported into an alternate universe... where roles have been switched around. In this world, it's the girls who come on to the guys.

Bob is overjoyed. But he suddenly realizes what it is to be in a girl's shoes... and treated like cattle!

Mecs Meufsis a little off-beat comedy. It's written and directed by Liam Engle (me!) and produced by Affreux, Sales et Méchants.

Mecs Meufsis also the third episode in a loose series of shorts I've directed starring Robert Hospyan as himself, aka "Bob".

This is Bob et Joséphine, a self-financed short we did in 2009, that already shows Bob facing a fantasy-like twist:

Mecs Meufs will thus be the third installment in Bob's adventures. 

PRODUCTION & SHOOTING

We hope to shoot the movie in three days in late June 2012.

The movie is produced by Affreux, Sales et Méchants, a young and very dynamic production company I've already worked with. You can check out their CV here.

We're currently putting the crew together, but we already have the very talented Xavier Dolléans on board as DP (check out his reel here) and the quick-witted and efficient David Hourrègue as Assistant director.

We're also casting the numerous actors and actresses around Bob, and we'll keep you guys posted any time someone joins the cast.

If you're reading this, you probably already know me - or know my parents! But for the others, and just to say a few words, I was born in Aix-en-Provence, France, back in 1981.

I directed amateur shorts through most of my schoolyears, with such subtle and evocative titles as Revenge is Best Served Cold or 2003, World War.

After graduating, I studied cinema at college while working on new films whose quality - I'm told - got better and better. I moved to Paris in 2006 where I now live and work.

Aside from my short films, I'm currently writing features which I hope to get financed and direct.
