Fishtre

To allow the metamorphosis of a woman into a goldfish? Fichtre…Yes It’s possible!

Ablette is sixty years old.  She suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. One morning she stops in front of a shop window where some goldfish swim.  She contemplates her reflection.  From this moment on her day will take an incredible turn: she is thirty years old again!

Welcome to the cheery and colourful world of FIshtre, a short film born out of the imagination of Juliette Allauzen and Miguel Rosales.  The originality of this project rests on the association of cinema and the art of clowning to explore a comical and poetic visual form.

Over the last two years we have gained financial help and many supporters.  As of today we have completed the team – technicians, actors, circus entertainers, and eccentrics…

We have the opportunity to vastly distribute our film in France through short film festivals and television as well as through our contacts in the medical field such as in hospitals and elderly organisations (Point Emeraude, train Alzheimer).  We also aim to distribute the film worldwide.

This is a silent film, and can be adapted to every country.

Karine DUBERNET – the traffic patrol woman in scene 11

Karine Dubernet is much more than a one-woman show, she is a cocktail of comedy which will make your head spin. A burlesque presentation, raw and provocative. A comedian with a frantic rhythm who delivers hilarious and disturbed characters. Karine Dubernet is a phenomenum. Scouted in Laurent Ruquier’s new show “On n’ demande qu’à en rire” and on Europe 1 Radio for her chrionicles, Karine Dubernet is a ball of energy plugged into high voltage!

She is currently showing at the Théâtre du Palais Royal in the new play by Laurent Baffie “Les Bonobos”, as well as her one-woman show.

Juliette ALLAUZEN – Co-writer, co-director and actress

Juliette was trained at L’Ecole du Théâtre National de Chaillot, and l’école de clown du Samovar. She then earns her living as a dramatic artist, a proof-reader and analyst of manuscripts, as a clown (prize winner of Talent de scenes de Nevers), and as a director’s assistant. She has played in twenty or more short films, three docu-fictions for television, ten or more theatre plays, directed a high-wire act, directed
two contemporary theatre plays, written clown acts and children’s plays, and has developed a “savoir-vivre” for clowns.

At the age of 30, she co-directs the short film “Fishtre” in which she also plays the starring role - Ablette. She puts all of her experience into the realisation of this project.

Miguel ROSALES – Co-writer and co-director

Born in Hong Kong. A the age of 16 he is a skateboard stunt double for Jacky Chan in the film “City Hunter”. At 17 he studies art and communication in San Francisco.
At 21 he arrives in London to begin a degree in Graphic design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and design. At 23 he discovers Paris through an exchange program at l’Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs. He moves to the city the year after.

At the age of 24 he approaches magazine titles, finds an agent and begins working professionally as a photographer. At 25 he studies at Fabrica (School of visual research of Benetton) in Treviso, Italy. By the age of 26 he had photographed David Lynch, Woody Allen, Lars Von Trier, Wong Kar Wai, and Darren Aronovsky among others.

In 2006 Miguel participates in a short film competition “48 hour film project” where he meets the actress Juliette Allauzen. He continues his path as a photographer, with the desire of directing a film. His work is published in Crash, Jalouse, 20ANS, Biba, Mme Figaro, WAD, Citizen K, GQ UK, Vogue UK, The Face, Dazed & Confused,Oyster, Muteen, Milk, Première, L’Officiel, Liberation Next.

At the age of 34 he co-writes “Fishtre”. 

Septime Productions

Septime Productions is a production company established in 2010 by Pierre-Yves Denonfoux. His role is to imagine, create, support and distribute audio-visual projects in France and throughout the world. With “Fishtre” Septime embarks in its 4th project.

The role of the company is to organise the production of the film shoot as best as possible in order to allow the directors to concentrate on their creative work. A balance is sought so as to be present and attentive without being overbearing.

The second role of the company is equally very important – it is to distribute the film.

Finishing a film is a great satisfaction, but succeeding in distributing it in film festivals, on television, and on the interweb is even greater.  With Fishtre we believe that we can cross boarders as the film is silent and can be received in all languages and cultures.

We accompany and support the film team before, during, and after the shoot.

 Septime productions is confident that with the film Fishtre we can alleviate through laughter some of the stigma around the disease.
