The story of The Heritage: Augustin Boisvert, a recently widowed painter, and his two girls, Camille and Méline, inherit a mysterious ancestral home. During their first visit, their old guardian frightens Camille and Méline, as do the shadowy panoramas on the walls. Forced to stay in the house for the night, Augustin watches over his sleeping girls and draws a picture of Camille before falling asleep himself. The following morning, Camille has disappeared, along with the drawing. A beautiful young woman then makes an appearance...
Above all, the plot's main theme is bereavement. The three main characters must try to learn to live with the loss of their wife/mother, and the mysterious ancestral home they inherit adds another stage to their mourning.
Once the film is ready, we will enter it into several international film festivals, and will try to get it broadcast on TV.

This project is very exciting, because we really think that Mica has a lot of talent. We hope to produce this first short and then, who knows, maybe accompany him in his first long film.
The Heritage is an ambitious project because it integrates animation techniques with fiction, so the budget is relatively high. We have already approached some organisations and institutions to obtain funds in France and Switzerland, and we are also in contact with european co-producers. We have been contacting famous French actors to play the leading roles.
We are looking to raise at least 5 000€ via this site. Thanks to your support, we will be able to complete our funding plan and begin filming in the summer or early autumn 2011.

My name's Adeline Monzier and I have just set up my own firm 'Black Rabbit Film' with my associate Isabelle Obadia, in order to produce our first short, The Heritage by Michaël Terraz. Our ambition is to discover young talent and to accompany them, from first shorts to long films, towards success. We hope to produce demanding films, but ones which reach out and touch the public.
The writer-director Michaël Terraz is a talented swiss artist in his 30s who I met several years ago while filming in Paris. He is a cartoonist, graphic designer, photographer and music composer. Here are some links to his work: www.micacreation.com / http://ihardlyknowher.com/micacreation/sets
This short by Michaël Terraz is our first project. The feedback from professionals who have read the script has been very positive and encouraging, so we have launched into this adventure with passion and excitement!
